What is the IndustryWeek Best Plants Award?
The IndustryWeek Best Plants Awards program was established in 1990 to recognize North American manufacturing facilities setting standards for competitiveness, performance and culture. Entries are judged by a panel of IndustryWeek and outside experts, evaluating the robust questionnaires completed by applicants containing performance data, insight into quality and management practices, and evidence of improved competitiveness. Editors then visit the finalists as the final step of the judging process.
Meet Hoffer Plastics
Hoffer Plastics was founded in 1953 by Robert “Bob” and Helen Hoffer. Today, the company is led by its third generation of family leadership, and serves industry-leading companies in medical, packaging, consumer industrial, appliance and automotive. The company specializes in custom injection molding solutions in addition to its Lok™ family of proprietary caps and spouts for flexible and rigid packaging.
Our best-in-class plastics manufacturing plant spans 365,000-square-feet on 24 acres in South Elgin, Illinois. The plant is organized into nine Focused Factories, allowing our employees to become true experts in our customers’ businesses, programs and industries. These nine factories house more than 350 employees, 112 injection molding machines, three on-site toolrooms, state-of-the-art quality equipment and processes, value-added assembly, and more.
